Oromocto Dance School ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our students, parents, and families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Oromocto Dance School mobile application (the "App") and our website at https://oromoctodance.com/ (collectively, the "Services").
We manage personal information in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable New Brunswick privacy laws.
1. Information We Collect
When you register for an account, enroll a student in classes, or use the Oromocto Dance School App, we collect only the information necessary to provide our studio services:
Parent & Guardian Account Information: Your name, email address, phone number, billing address, and encrypted account login credentials.
Student & Dancer Profile Information: Your dancer's name, date of birth or age group, enrolled classes, class schedule history, attendance records, and any relevant medical, allergy, or emergency contact notes you voluntarily provide for student safety.
Billing, Invoice & Payment Information: Itemized tuition invoices, applied discounts (such as military or family discounts), payment status, transaction receipts, and billing history.
Card & Apple Pay Transactions: When you pay by credit card, debit card, or Apple Pay, your payment is processed securely by our third-party PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Oromocto Dance School does not store or have access to your full credit card number or Apple Pay credentials.
Interac e-Transfer Payments: When you pay via Interac e-Transfer to
dancing@oromoctodance.com, we record the deposit confirmation and invoice reference number to update your account balance.
Studio Communications: Messages, announcements, invoice alerts, and payment receipts sent to your in-app Messages inbox.
Device Permissions (Calendar Sync): If you tap "Add to Calendar" on a class in the Schedule tab, the App requests permission to add class events to your iPhone's native Calendar app. We only write the selected class event to your calendar; we do not read, collect, or transmit your existing personal calendar data.
Technical & Diagnostic Data: Basic device information (such as iOS version, device model, and push notification tokens) used solely to deliver studio notifications, maintain security, and troubleshoot app performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly to operate Oromocto Dance School and deliver the App's features, including to:
Create and manage your family and dancer accounts.
Process in-app class registrations and display your personalized weekly class schedules.
Generate itemized tuition invoices, apply eligible studio discounts, process payments, and issue receipts.
Send important studio announcements, schedule changes, billing reminders, and receipts via in-app messages, push notifications, or email.
Maintain student safety and emergency contact readiness during studio classes and events.
Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your child's information to third parties, and we do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-app tracking in our App.
3. Children's & Student Privacy
Because our dance programs serve children and youth, all App accounts are created and managed by a parent, legal guardian, or adult student (18 years of age or older). Student information (such as dancer names and class enrollments) is collected solely from the parent or legal guardian for class placement, scheduling, and instruction. If you believe a child under the age of majority has submitted personal information without parental consent, please contact us at dancing@oromoctodance.com so we can promptly remove it.
4. How We Share Your Information
We only share personal information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our studio and the App, under strict confidentiality obligations:
Cloud Hosting & Database Providers: To securely store account, schedule, and invoice records.
Payment Processors: To securely process Apple Pay and credit/debit card transactions.
Push Notification & Email Services: To deliver studio updates, invoice alerts, and payment receipts.
Legal Compliance: When required by applicable Canadian federal or New Brunswick provincial law, court order, or government regulation.
5. Data Security & Retention
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards—including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, secure authentication, and role-based access controls—to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
We retain your account and billing records for as long as your family maintains an active account with Oromocto Dance School, plus any retention period required by Canadian tax and accounting regulations (typically seven years for financial invoice and receipt records).
6. Your Privacy Rights & Account Deletion
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and Apple App Store guidelines, you have the right to:
Access & Update Your Information: You can view and update your account details directly within the Account tab of the App or by contacting us.
Request Account Deletion: You may request the deletion of your App account and associated personal data at any time from within the Account tab of the App or by emailing us at
dancing@oromoctodance.comwith the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Upon verification, we will permanently delete your active account profile and personal data within 30 days, except where limited financial transaction records must be retained by law for tax and accounting audits.Manage Device Permissions: You can revoke Calendar or Push Notification permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings > Oromocto Dance School.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our App features or legal requirements. When we make updates, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through the App if material changes occur.
