Costumes
As dancers are judged on overall appearance, costumes play a big role in their success at competitions.
Some costumes will be made up of easy to acquire articles from local stores (for example - black capris and a coloured tank top), while other costumes may be more intricate and may need to be specially ordered. Generally an ordered costume can run between $40-$80 US.
Oromocto Dance School will do our best to select affordable costumes for our competitive numbers. Please know costumes are not custom made and any alterations that need to be done are the responsibility of the dancer.
Note: Costumes are usually ordered by the end of October to ensure they arrive in lots of time for the competitive season.
Solos/Duets/Trios
If a dancer is interested in doing solo(s) and or duets/trios please let the studio director know and she will discuss this with the dancers instructor to determine suitability. If selected, the dancer must pay for a routine to be choreographed and taught to the dancer. Also, periodically privates, especially before the competitions, are highly recommended.
