June 11th - Dance Recital Information
Good Evening Dance Families!
Attached is the schedule for the holiday recital 2023, which takes place on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the Oromocto High School Theatre. It is designed to be easy to find the show(s) your child is in. If you have any problem trying to find the show your child is in, please ask their teacher. For the June recital, we have chosen to go with three 1-hour and 15-minute shows instead of four 1-hour shows. Please note start times of shows are a little different than in the past.
What time should my dancer arrive at the Oromocto High School?
Show 1: Ballet Slippers Show (11:30 AM - 12:45 PM) -
Dancers are to arrive between 11:00 AND 11:10 AM
Please note: The doors to the high school will only open at 11:00 AM. We require time to check the equipment and prepare to greet the dancers. If you arrive before 11:00 AM, you cannot get into the high school, and you will have to wait until the doors open at 11:00 AM.
Show 2: Jazz Shoes Show (1:15 PM - 2:30 PM) -
Dancers are to arrive between 12:45 AND 12:55 PM
Show 3: Tap Shoes Show (3:00 PM - 4:15 PM) -
Dancers are to arrive between 2:30 AND 2:40 PM
Please use the cafeteria entrance behind the school off MacKenzie Ave.
ATTIRE:
Parent & Me, Teeny Tiny Dancers, Tiny Dancers, Ballet & Everything Disney classes: Please wear your black leotards with any colour tights and ballet slippers if your dancer has them. A tutu for each of the above-mentioned classes has been ordered for each dancer. The tutus come with a matching tiara. Good news, I originally quoted the cost for the tutus to be between $22 & $25. I was able to find them for less, so the cost will be $15 for your child's tutu & tiara. These are yours to keep. You can pick them up and pay for them any of the times I'm in the studio selling tickets. For any male dancers in the above-mentioned classes, the tutu/tiara is optional.
If your child does not have a black leotard, they can wear black leggings and a black tank top. This is also an option for our male dancers.
Tiny Tappers: Please wear your black leotards with any colour tights with your tap shoes. If you don't have a black leotard, than a black tank top and biker shorts will work fine.
Tap & Jazz: Please wear a grey T-shirt, black leggings and a grey scrunchie.
Wednesday 7:30, Lyrical, Contemporary & Ballet Basics: Please wear a white tank top or T-shirt and black leggings.
All Tumbling and Acro Classes (Including Tiny Gymnastics): Please wear black leggings and the specified colour of the tank top below. Tumbling classes to go with bare feet; if your dancer cannot find a tank top in your class's colour, please check Frenchies, Walmart, and Superstore. If you cannot find a tank top, wear a plain T-shirt in your class's chosen colour (you can get one at Michaels). If you go with the T-Shirt option, please make sure it is a fitted T-shirt with no writing or graphics on it.
Tuesday 6:30 - 7:30 Acro & Beginner Tumbling - Black long-sleeve shirt (T-shirt material) and black leggings
Wednesday 4:00 - 4:45 Advanced Tiny Tumblers - White Tank top or fitted T-shirt and black leggings
Wednesday 4:45 - 5:45 Beginner Tumbling - Light Blue Tank top or fitted T-shirt and black leggings
Wednesday 5:45 - 6:15 Tiny Tumblers - Light Blue Tank top or fitted T-shirt and black leggings

Hip Hop Classes & Boys Street Crew: Please wear black bottoms (sweat pants, leggings, track pants) and a white top (a hoodie, sweatshirt or t-shirt as long as it is plain white with no writing or graphics). If there is a small logo (i.e., Nike), that is ok. Footwear is to be sneakers.
Highland Dancers: Please wear black leotards with white tights. Ashley (their teacher) will loan the dancers highland skirts.
Competitive Dancers: For group routines, please wear the costume for the routines selected. Flame's selected dances are "Arms" and "Wolf." The dance selection for the other three teams has not yet been finalized.
TICKETS
Tickets are $15 per adult (Over 16), 16 and under are free. There is no charge for dancers/tumblers.
Tickets are to be pre-purchased at the studio to avoid lineups on the day of the show. You can buy tickets at the door, but they will be $20 per ticket. Ticket purchases are non-refundable.

In any class Roxane teaches (especially one with assistants), she can sell tickets for a few minutes at the beginning and end of class if needed.
