Dear Oromocto Dance School Family,

Please review the below information that includes existing policies and new changes to our COVID-19 operational plan.

PROCEDURES:

  • Masks are mandatory in all public spaces including when entering or exiting the building (building hallways, etc), and now because we are in the Orange Phase recreational classes will be required to wear a mask in their class. This does not apply to those who are medically exempt. Please note this could change in two weeks if Zone 3 is moved back to the yellow phase. For tumbling classes, where mask-wearing is not practical due to the possible risk of injury, it will be up to the athlete/parents whether or not they wear a mask.

  • There are lines outside the studio that are 6 feet apart that must be used by dancers waiting to enter their class. Dancers must not be waiting in random locations within the hall or grouped around the door. This is necessary to ensure that classes can safely transition.

  • All dancers from the previous class must have exited the studio before any dancers for the next class are allowed to enter.

  • We are using Medical inferred no-touch thermometers to check each child's temp before being allowed to enter the studio. A child with the Covid screening score higher than 37.8 will not be allowed to enter the studio.

  • We will spray hand sanitizer onto the children's hands upon entry and departure.

  • We will wipe common areas like door handles, ballet bars (if used during a class), bathroom sink handles and toilet handles between each class.

  • Classes that are longer than 30 minutes will end 5 minutes early, while we are in the Orange Phase this will allow the instructor to sanitize the common areas mentioned above. Please ensure that you arrive 5 minutes prior to the end of your child's class for classes that are 45 minutes or longer.

  • Mats if used during classes will be sanitized at the end of every day.

  • No parents or athletes will be allowed in the waiting areas to make it easier to keep our spaces safe.

  • If you have travelled outside of the province, if you have been in contact with a positive Covid case or have symptoms of Covid, if you are in a 14 day quarantine period, awaiting results from testing or are not feeling well, please do not come to dance/tumbling.

The health and safety of your children, your family and our instructors are taken very seriously. Please help me with this. Also, suggestions are always welcome.
